Chinese herbal medicine is a branch of Chinese medicine that uses herbs to maintain or restore health.
Although Chinese herbalists will utilise such diagnostic techniques as taking pulses and looking at the tongue, they will also incorporate recognisable orthodox Western medical procedures such as case histories and examination.
Chinese herbal medicine can be given in several forms. It can be prepared to make a tea from raw herbs or from concentrated powders. Remedies are also available as encapsulated powders or tablets.
